Though we couldn’t find much info on this hairpin leg table, hairpin style furniture has an interesting history:

The hairpin leg was invented by Henry P. Glass in 1941 as a sturdy stand-in for furniture legs of standard construction and material (say that five times fast). The hairpin leg’s primary virtue was its resource and cost efficiency: It greatly reduced the amount of material necessary to construct table and chair legs.
